I came across this lovely japanese couple in the coldest days of december, wandering around in Amsterdam in their wooden shoes and socks! while everyonelse was falling on their asses or trying to at least walk properly on the snow. I tried to get their names but it was quite impossible for me to remember, and they didn't quite know how to write english so let's just remember them by the way they looked!

I was rushing to school around 20.30 pm, still had half an hour to get there and make some copies before school closed; and then I saw HIM!!...I just had to stop. It's always like this with very inetersting looking people, they always pop up in the most unsuitable moments!!

He was a really nice person, a true free soul; he even gave me a hug when he saw I was wearing furry gloves!...it's only a pitty I was in such a hurry, cause he had two very, uhm, particular dogs? but really cute, and his friend whom he was walking with was a really cool girl too, but no time no can do! Hopefully I'll see them again.

Tiemen was last thursday over at our school, posing for model drawing lessons. First I thought the socks and the baggy cropped pants were part of the outfit he had to model in, and in fact they were! but it wasn't an outfit styled by the teacher but his own clothes, so I really liked that!

So as the lessons kept on going at school, Stephany my classmate called me and told me I needed to get to the Malieveld asap and capture some of these amazing looking people so, A THOUSAND THANKS TO STEPH! for thinking of Enchante! but I really think our whole class! and school! should have been there! not only to see and be seen, but also to be part of the movement and give meaning to it!. I mean, kids from all kinds of art schools came over to our city to be part of it all, and we, having our school placed right across the Malieveld did not mind on walking a couple of blocks....well God knows I did! for the sake of art and my future, HA!

As for the looks, I really enjoyed to have shot only men for a change! I was quite surprised to see how the guys had really worked it and dressed up to be there.

The last guy being the one who really impressed and inspired me the most, had a vintage (and I really mean, VINTAGE) motorcycle leather jacket TO DIE FOR. The second last picture makes me want to die a million deaths!

The process on that sweater was so interesting! the holes placement and sizes were designed so that the sweater looked as if it was ripping off, but it wasn't. The skirt's transparency was a delish contrast as well with the hole-y sweater, mostly in polkadots!

Marte is a cutie! she's a fashion design first year student, and model under paparazzi model's management! She's got quite interesting layering skills and most of the times wears stuff out of her mom's closet in her outfits, lovely japanese-like designer pieces from quite some time ago from now. I really liked to take his photo since the rest of the kids were making fun of him, and the whole vibe changed as they saw he was getting the attention from this guy and his camera.

I asked this sweet looking lady if I could make a photo of her and she refused; as I tried to still get an incognito shot, I got shout out by another lady, without teeth, who said I was very rude for doing what I just did and that the police was going to come after me and take my camera away! quite an experience! she honestly made my day. But back to the pastel pink sweetheart,

I enjoy a lot the way she layered things together in the same color on her lower body area.

Marijke is our model drawing teacher at school. I have been in love with her monochrome-tough but classical style since our very first lessons. She's all about the clash of quality fabrics, smart accessorizing and contrasts. I must admit I never saw anyone work fully black outfits in so many different and interesting ways. And let's not forget her signature updo which works everysingle time. I will be following Marijke's looks from now on since I finally got the courage to ask her, AND SHE AGREED!

Mirjam lives in The Hague and is a freelance artist mostly into paint. Her hobby and biggest obsession besides painting is watching anime and fairies. I found her tattoos so quirky and sweet, so personal. But what amazed me the most was that yellow hanging pocket from her trousers, it took me a while to figure out what it was when I spotted her. Loved the ashy purple tone of her hair. I love to appreciate how different we all are.

Windy times in The Hague! I actually like a lot how Pommeline's look was completely changed when it came to proportions and shapes because of the wind. It was fun to shoot her but quite tricky at the same time since we were both wearing hats and it only got harder to keep them on our heads as we tried to snap the photo.

A polkadotted vampire from the 70's!...is what I called Rob right after I shot this. It made him laugh, perhaps because it's accurate! I've always been a fan of Rob's style. Always classic but with that quirky final touch to it which makes it always unpredictably nice. The polkadotted shirt was self-made and given as a gift by Charlotte, who is another person who I'll be hunting next to get on the picture. I gotta say I quite like what's happening in between trouser, sock and shoe as well!

Nen Xavier and Wendy Hameeteman are the proud founders of this cozy yet multiple conceptual store. Not only are they the founders of such space, but they happen to work in it as well besides selling amazing clothes, shoes, accesories etc.

In one hand we have Nen, who could style no matter how many looks for you in order to find what you finally feel fresh but fash in; and on the other we have Wendy, who as a skilled hair stylist has her own space in this same store where she could perfectly perform any kind of cut here and dye there for anyone who would feel like a makeover while shopping. Cause if you feel like your shoes still need to match your hair, whatelse better than to have someone fix it for you right away?!

They both invited me over last saturday to have some drinks at the store while they worked and helped people (who by the way, did not stop pouring in for the whole day) to get exactly what they wanted. I had a lot of fun, and I'm for sure going back anytime soon to pick up a couple of things I fell in love with.

ps. Thanks once again to both Nen & Wendy who had me over and gave me a super nice present that day with that golden Cheap Monday bullet necklace! I love it!

I took this one in front of a gallery at the noordeinde where a small group of people gathered to have champagne (in Marieke's case, beer); looked like an opening to me by the looks of the people who attended and I was right! Marieke is the artist's wife who was exposing since that day on. She explained to me in a sarcastic tone what a tough job it was to be an artist's wife. She bought her show stopping knee-height red suede boots specially for the opening; in between other things she also confessed she was a "boot freak".

Jasmina was visually delightful! I was actually in a hurry and on my bike when I spotted her during museumnacht, but she's been definetly one of the few ones that has made me burn my rubber in order to make a lovely photo. Jasmina is originally croatian but has lived in The Hague for almost 20 years now. Jasmina works as a victim support at the War Crimes Tribunal, which was a very surprising piece of information to my ears, mostly coming from someone looking this way! I liked it a lot. I guess I wouldn't have done nothing to me if she told me she worked as a sales woman at an exclusive store.

I met Jolien during the introduction days at my school some weeks ago now. It's just a pitty I forgot to make a close up of her mini up hard-do; I asked her where was it coming from and she only dropped the most fabulous, heaviest name in comedy as an answer: Patsy Stone!! her necklace is a danish handmade piece out of tiny little cute green and white beats which she got from a good friend as a present. The super-sized brown jacket was a left over piece of a play from the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen which was worn by an enormus person as we can see.

I spotted Nika from a very long distance during an almost rainy afternoon. I reached her right before she went in her house with her husband and dog and asked her, why was she dressed this way, I felt so curious. A bit confused she said she dressed this way everyday. I loved how wrong her top was and how outerspace her skirt was. I could've sworn she was in Jean Paul Gaultier from head to toe. The way she tied her scarf from the back was quite interesting as well, quite Fifth Element!

Nicolas was on a shopping trip with a friend in The Hague all the way from Utrecht. Zanne is a graduate already and a guide at my school. For the same reasons ever since I started my school year last year I see her several times during the week. Her style comes always as a big surprise in the mornings which is always nice to have in between the usual routine. She tells me she has a huge devotion for cowboy boots which explained right away the amount of boots I've seen her wear this far. My favourites at this point are a neon pink pair she wears not so often which makes it really special everytime I see them again.

I actually had never seen this girl before around school and besides my extreme devotion to chunky-square point shoes, I gotta say that her shoes were only a small percentage of how smart her outfit was. Let's say she looked like a Burberry teenage witch in a huge black lammy coat followed by many other layers; of course everything was black and it all came in quite XXXL proportions. She also had straight black long hair and no make-up on as the cherrie son top. It's only a pitty she was one of the camera-shy crowd and refused to have her face in the photo.

These was a really good Mariska's 'pre-summer days' look. With no tights, light linnen blazer, cropped high waisted pleated trousers and open neck cotton shirt but still undoubtly in black, she said hi to sun-bathing and good bye to heavy winter garments. Maris is a dear friend of mine as well whose colour scheme has grown amazingly ever since summer started, and those dresses just keep on getting shorter as well! I spotted Manouska walking through het plein during one of summer's first sunny days; the kind of perfect weather days when nothing's too hot or too cold and when we are still able to wear more than one layer and not feel suffocated in our own clothes. Her incredible Watanabe look-a-like coat was the first thing I noticed in between the crowd that day which made a really good contrast with her hair's texture.

Hanae is a close friend of mine who knocks me off my feet everytime I see her. She's one of the few people I know who are masters and extremly talented on second hand treasure hunting. These were one of the first summer days during school and she wore a faux fur vest over a beautiful white pleated mini-dress; all this paired with, what I like to call, her Acne ankle boot look-a-likes.

Hanae's hair is shorter and has a lighter shade of brown. Can't wait to shoot her in this new look.

This is probably the first time I ever saw, met and shot Gala. She's a fine arts student at the same school as me. The first time I saw her I was so sure she was italian, which wasn't a statement far from being true; she tells me there's a lot of greek, french and italian blood in her family and therefore her looks.

HELLO!

Once again after another extense summer break that seemed eternal away from posting pictures for Enchante again, WE'RE BACK!!. In a couple of words, to make the long story short, what once was a very nice detailed but not such a functional and practical site, is now an easier scrolling down system with shorter and more substantial descriptions, and way bigger images for the detail lovers.
